System Engineering Overview

The SANON Frameless Glass Railing System offers clean architectural minimalism. It eliminates vertical posts to deliver wide panoramic views. This system fits luxury residential balconies, commercial pool fences, and high-rise terraces.

Our engineering team builds every component for strong wind-load safety. We use solid AISI 316 and Duplex 2205 stainless steel spigots. These fittings absorb heavy lateral impacts and resist coastal salt-spray rust.

Key Structural Advantages

  • Clear Sightlines: No upright metal posts block your line of sight.
  • Marine-Grade Alloys: Precision cast from 316 or 2205 for seafront durability.
  • Drill-Free Installation: Pressure-clamp mechanisms lock glass panels securely.
  • High Load Rating: Certified to withstand up to 1.5 kN/m commercial line load.

Glass Selection Guidelines

System safety depends on choosing the correct glass makeup. SANON spigots work with both monolithic and laminated glass:

  • 12mm Toughened Glass: Ideal for interior stairs and standard residential decks.
  • 17.52mm SGP Laminated Glass: Recommended for high-rise balconies and public walkways.
  • 21.52mm Heavy Laminated Glass: Built for extreme coastal wind zones and commercial rooftops.

Spigot-Mounted Frameless Glass System

Engineered with precision investment-cast spigots in AISI 304, 316, and Duplex 2205. Delivers clear sightlines with bottom-edge clamping and no vertical support posts.

  • Core-drill & surface flange mounting options
  • Friction clamping mechanism without glass drilling
  • Ideal for pool fencing and perimeter balcony surrounds

Offers faster installation and lower structural weight compared to continuous base channels while maintaining 1.5 kN/m line load rating.

Point-Fixed Standoff Glass System

Side-mounted heavy stainless steel standoff pins designed for fascia attachment across concrete slabs and timber stair stringers.

  • Retains 100% usable floor and balcony space
  • High resistance to wind shear and lateral loads
  • Precision 316/2205 machined solid stainless steel pins

Saves usable deck footprint by mounting directly to the fascia edge rather than top surface slabs.

6-Step Mechanical Installation Brief

  1. Mark layout anchor points using a precision laser level.
  2. Core-drill or bolt spigots into the structural concrete slab.
  3. Place elastomeric rubber gaskets inside the spigot clamping cavities.
  4. Lower the glass panels carefully into the spigot channels.
  5. Adjust alignment screws until the panels are plumb.
  6. Torque locking set-screws to the specified pressure rating.

System-Specific Technical & Procurement FAQ

Expert engineering guidance, compliance details, and B2B procurement insights tailored specifically for this railing architecture.

How does a frameless system hold glass safely without posts?

Frameless systems secure glass using heavy-duty base spigots or continuous bottom channels bolted into structural slabs. High-strength clamping jaws and EPDM rubber gaskets hold the glass firmly. This friction-lock design transfers lateral wind loads directly into the concrete foundation.

What is the advantage of Duplex 2205 over AISI 316 for spigots?

Duplex 2205 offers twice the yield strength of standard 316 stainless steel. It provides superior resistance to pitting and chloride stress corrosion. We recommend Duplex 2205 for seaside swimming pool fences within 500 meters of saltwater.

Do I need to drill holes in the glass panels?

No. SANON frameless spigots use an internal friction-clamping mechanism. This eliminates costly glass hole drilling and reduces fabrication lead times for project contractors.

Can this system withstand coastal wind loads?

Yes. When installed with 17.52mm or 21.52mm SGP laminated glass, our system passes strict 1.5 kN/m line load tests and high-altitude wind pressure standards.

What surface finishes are available for spigots?

We supply spigots in 240-grit satin brushed, mirror polished, and PVD matte black. All finishes are tested for salt-spray corrosion resistance. Learn more at our Surface Finishes guide.

How do you prevent glass rattling and scratches?

Every spigot kit includes UV-resistant composite isolation shims. These gaskets prevent direct metal-to-glass contact and cushion vibrations from strong winds.

What is the standard export packaging for bulk orders?

Spigots are individually bubble-wrapped and packed in heavy cartons. We ship orders in fumigated wooden crates or steel-reinforced export pallets for safe container transit.
