  • Under ADA and IBC commercial building codes, wall-mounted handrail brackets must be spaced no more than 4 to 6 feet (1.2m to 1.8m) on center. For heavy-traffic commercial stairs or public transit facilities, spacing brackets every 4 feet prevents handrail deflection under the code-mandated 250 lbs point load.

  • ADA standards mandate a minimum clear space of 1.5 inches (38mm) between the handrail gripping surface and the finished wall. Our architectural brackets provide 2.5 to 3.0 inches of standoff clearance to ensure smooth, unhindered hand-slide continuity along the full flight of stairs.

  • Glass-mount handrail brackets feature a bottom U-shaped clamp jaw lined with high-density EPDM rubber pads that pinch-lock onto 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch frameless glass panels without drilling holes through the glass, while the top saddle cradles round or square handrail tubes.

  • For timber frame walls, brackets must be secured with heavy stainless steel lag screws penetrating at least 2 inches into solid wood backing or studs. For solid concrete or brick masonry walls, stainless steel drop-in expansion anchors or chemical threaded rods are required.

  • Yes. Post-top brackets feature a heavy-duty pivot trunnion that adjusts continuously from 0° flat landings up to 45° stair inclines, allowing contractors to secure continuous handrail runs across changing slopes without custom fabrication.
