  • For concrete slabs, heavy-duty square or circular post base flanges anchored with M8–M12 stainless steel wedge expansion anchors are required to resist lateral deflection. For exterior timber and composite decks, surface-mount base plates must be fastened with structural lag bolts into solid underside blocking or backing plates.

  • Slotted anchor bolt holes provide crucial horizontal installation tolerance (typically ±5mm). This allows installers to fine-tune post plumb and achieve laser-straight railing lines across uneven concrete surfaces before fully torquing down the anchor nuts.

  • Matching square and circular escutcheon covers slip over the upright post before top-rail assembly. Once the post base plate and concrete anchor fasteners are secured, the low-profile cover drops down to sit flush against the floor, concealing raw bolts, shims, and slotted holes.
